Week 6: NFL Top 10 Running Backs Right Now

The 33rd Team's weekly top-10 RB rankings are a snapshot of where the league's best running backs are right now, taking into account the player's recent production, health, and an evaluation by our scouting department, led by former NFL team executive T.J. McCreight and assisted by scouts Justin Casey, Kevin Cohn and Evan Pritt.

>> Other Week 6 Rankings: WR | QB

1. Nick Chubb, Cleveland Browns

Carries: 98 | Yards: 593 | TD: 5 | Explosive Plays: 7

Chubb is the engine that makes the Browns’ offense go. He is tied for first in the NFL with seven touchdowns and has 27 first downs. He has strong legs and great feet to kick out of tackles, and he can lower his pads to get extra yards.

2. Saquon Barkley, New York Giants

Carries: 97 | Yards: 533 | TD: 3 | Explosive Plays: 5

Probably the most physically gifted running back, Barkley can do it all with the ball in his hands. He can make people miss in space and separate from defenders to take it the distance.

3. Josh Jacobs, Las Vegas Raiders

Carries: 91 | Yards: 490 | TD: 5 | Explosive Plays: 3

Defenders don’t want to meet this player in the open field. Strong and tough, Jacobs can hit the hole and hit linebackers.

4. Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans

Carries: 104 | Yards: 408 | TD: 5 | Explosive Plays: 1

Henry can stiff arm with the best of them. Coming downhill or in the open field, you must go low on this player, or you will be in the training room the next day.

5. Miles Sanders, Philadelphia Eagles

Carries: 87 | Yards: 414 | TD: 3 | Explosive Plays: 3

Sanders has rare balance, feet and body control, and he can move laterally. He also has the speed to pull away. He can churn out yards and has top-level vision.

6. Aaron Jones, Green Bay Packers

Carries: 61 | Yards: 390 | TD: 1 | Explosive Plays: 3

Jones is not the fastest player, but he's strong and tough with the football. He has good instincts with the ball in his hands and can find open holes and hit them.

7. Dameon Pierce, Houston Texans

Carries: 86 | Yards: 412 | TD: 3 | Explosive Plays: 3

Pierce is an under-the-radar player that has the strength and toughness to break tackles. He will lower his pads to fight for extra yards; he's a steady player.

8. Austin Ekeler, Los Angeles Chargers

Carries: 61 | Yards: 313 | TD: 3 | Explosive Plays: 3

Ekeler has excellent quickness and balance in space. He's a versatile player that can pop with his production throughout the game.

9. Christian McCaffrey, Carolina Panthers

Carries: 72 | Yards: 324 | TD: 2 | Explosive Plays: 1

McCaffrey can run, catch and is a top-level route runner. He's a huge threat in the passing game with his ability to match up one-on-one with people in space.

10. Breece Hall, New York Jets

Carries: 56 | Yards: 275 | TD: 2 | Explosive Plays: 1

Hall enters the top 10 after putting up 97 yards rushing and 100 yards receiving in Week 5. He is a talented rookie who has outstanding instincts with the ball in his hands. He's not a bruiser, but he is tough for his size.
