Titans GM: QB Ryan Tannehill 'Is a Titan and He Will Be a Titan'
New Tennessee Titans general manager Ran Carthon told reporters Tuesday that quarterback Ryan Tannehill will remain with the Titans, despite rumors the team could move on from the veteran this offseason.
"Ryan is under contract," Carthon told reporters. "I just want to speak freely for a moment. I know everybody wants to make a big deal out of the quarterback position and whether he will or won't be here. But you guys just have to accept the fact that Ryan is under contract for us and right now he's a Titan and he will be a Titan."

The Titans signed Tannehill to a four-year, $118 million deal, with $62 million guaranteed at signing and an average annual value of $29.5 million, before the 2020 season. This season Tannehill will carry a cap hit of $36.6 million and the team could save around $18 million by cutting him.

That doesn't appear to be the plan.
"He's been a diligent worker, been in the building every day rehabbing and getting his work in," Carthon said. "So, he is under contract and I am excited about moving forward with him and have a ton of respect for him."
The Titans used a third-round pick on QB Malik Willis in the 2022 NFL Draft, leading some to speculate that Tannehill's time in Tennessee was coming to a close. However, in his limited action, Willis struggled to produce.
Willis went 1-2 in three starts, completing just 50.8 percent of his passes for 276 yards and zero passing touchdowns. He rushed for one touchdown, but that score was overshadowed by five turnovers.
Tannehill, meanwhile, in his fourth season as the Titans' starter, went 6-6 in 12 starts. He completed 65.2 percent of his passes for 2,536 yards and 13 touchdowns while throwing just six interceptions. Overall, he is 36-19 in 55 starts for Tennessee.
The Titans finished 7-10 overall in a depleted AFC South last season. They were in the playoff hunt until they lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 18.
