Jets Complete Shocking Home Upset of AFC East-Leading Bills
The New York Jets, a two-touchdown home underdog, shocked the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, 20-17, in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
"I know a lot of people are gonna be surprised," Jets coach Robert Saleh said at his post-game press conference. "I don't think there's a person surprised in the locker room."
It was Jets' first victory over their New York nemesis since December 2019. Led by their young and talented defense, the Jets (6-3) held the Bills to 317 total yards of offense, and they intercepted Bills quarterback Josh Allen twice.
One of Allen's interceptions came with 51 seconds left in the third quarter when rookie cornerback Ahmad Gardner's set up the Jets deep inside Bills' territory, down 14-10. New York proceeded to take a 17-14 lead after newly acquired running back James Robinson scored his first touchdown with the team.

Buffalo tied the game at 17 with a field goal with less than eight minutes remaining, but Jets QB Zach Wilson led a drive that ended with a field goal and a Jets lead inside two minutes. Allen failed to move the ball on the Bills' ensuing drive, handing the win to New York.
"We were breaking tackles, our receivers were blocking," Saleh said about the Jets' final drive. "When we needed a 3rd down conversion Denzel Mims played big boy ball in the slant & Zach delivered a strike. Just a really well-executed drive from everyone on offense."
Wilson finished the game 18-of-25 for 154 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions. This performance comes one week after Wilson threw three bad interceptions against the New England Patriots in a 22-17 loss.
Allen, an MVP candidate, finished the game with just 205 passing yards and zero passing touchdowns. However, he did have 86 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
