Surprising Broncos Are No. 1 in Aikman Efficiency Ratings

It was no surprise to see the Saints atop the Aikman Efficiency Ratings after their Week 1 drubbing of the Packers, but you may be surprised to see which team is the new no. 1 after Week 2.

The 2-0 Denver Broncos have the best overall Aikman Efficiency Rating, Hall of Famer Troy Aikman’s proprietary metric for ranking team offense and defense.

Denver is just middle-of-the-pack in the AER’s offensive ratings, but the Broncos are tops in defense by a wide margin – enough to give them the top overall ranking.
