Wild Card Rookie Report: Ja'Marr Chase Continues His Dominant Campaign

Stock Up Players

RB: Elijah Mitchell - Mitchell has been a phenomenal draft selection in the late rounds for the 49ers. He has been a key part of their offense all season, as he had a regular season grade of 76.9. His play helped them get a win in the wildcard round, as he carried the ball 27 times for 96 yards and a score, good for a grade of 72.0,

WR: Ja’Marr Chase - Chase has locked up the OROY, as he played to a grade of 82.7 for the season. He was a key part of the Bengals’ victory on Sunday, as he caught 9 passes for 116 yards, finishing with a grade of 82.9.

OL: Creed Humphrey - Humphrey has not only been one of the best rookie offensive linemen but one of the best offensive linemen in the entire league, as he finished with a grade of 92.7 for the season. Sunday’s win was no different as he blocked well in the run game and allowed just one pressure in pass protection, good for a grade of 90.5.

DL: Gregory Rousseau - Rousseau has been solid all season for the Bills defense, especially in the run game as he earned a grade of 71.7 for the season. In Saturday’s dominant victory for the Bills, he had 2 pressures, 2 TFL, and finished with a grade of 80.5.

DB: Nate Hobbs - Hobbs has been perhaps the biggest steal of the entire 2021 NFL draft. He has played well all season at CB, earning a grade of 83.6. On Sunday, he allowed just 2 catches for 14 yards and forced an incompletion. He finished the game with a grade of 72.2.

Stock Down Players

RB: Najee Harris - Harris has been a workhorse all season for the Steelers’ offense. He has touched the ball a lot and been successful, earning a season grade of 71.1 On Sunday, he did not see the same success, as he had just 12 carries for 29 yards, finishing with a grade of 49.7.

OL: Alex Leatherwood - Leatherwood has struggled all season between playing tackle and guard. He performed a bit better than his season grade of 46.2 but still struggled. He did not run block very well and allowed 3 pressures, finishing with a grade of 58.1.

OL: Dan Moore Jr - Similar to Leatherwood, Moore has not played his best football all season, as he finished with a grade of just 58.8. In Sunday’s loss, he did not run block very well and allowed 3 pressures, as he finished with a grade of 57.3.

DL: Cameron Sample - Sample has contributed in spurts this season, but has played to a grade of just 52.2 On Sunday, he was not able to generate any pressure and was quiet in the run game, as he finished with a grade of 37.4.

DB: Trevon Moehrig - Moehrig has been another successful rookie Raider DB this season, as he has earned a grade of 72.3. Sunday’s game was not his best performance, as he allowed 2 TDs and finished with a grade of just 52.2.

Divisional Matchups

Going into the divisional round, there are some noteworthy matchups of rookies that will be worth keeping an eye on.

Gregory Rousseau & Boogie Basham vs Creed Humphrey & Trey Smith - Rousseau and Basham have both played well and will look to keep their play going in a matchup of juggernauts in the divisional round. Humphrey and Smith won’t necessarily be going up against the Bills’ rookie edge rushers every snap, but will still face off throughout the game. They have both played very well and been key pieces on the interior of the Chiefs' offense.
