One of the NFL's biggest, brightest stars, Myles Garrett, is seeking a trade.

The Cleveland Browns star pass rusher released a statement on Monday saying he has requested a trade. If a trade is granted, Garrett would leave Cleveland living up to his billing as a No. 1 pick, going to six Pro Bowls with four first-team All-Pro selections and a Defensive Player of the Year award in 2023.

In the statement, Garrett revealed that he is seeking an opportunity to win a Super Bowl, which implies that there are only a handful of teams the future Hall of Fame pass rusher would be interested in playing for. Teams will also need to be able to afford the next two years of Garrett's contract, with cap hits of around $20 million in both 2025 and 2026.

Only a handful of teams are Super Bowl contenders and have the financial flexibility to make a move for Garrett. Let's take a look at which landing spots would make sense, along with potential trade packages for the 29-year-old superstar.

Browns receive: 2025 first-round pick, 2026 first-round pick

There isn't another team in a better position to take a swing on a future Hall of Famer than the Washington Commanders.

Thanks to Jayden Daniels being on a rookie deal for the next few seasons, the Commanders have more financial flexibility than almost every NFL franchise. They have more than $78 million in cap space, and after making it to the NFC Championship, they'll be incentivized to take some big swings this offseason to build a contender around their new franchise quarterback.

On top of that financial flexibility, the Commanders are desperate for impact players on defense. The Commanders ranked 23rd in defensive DVOA, and only two players on the roster, Dante Fowler Jr. and Frankie Luvu, had more than five sacks this year.

Garrett would be an instant impact player to lead Washington's pass rush, opening up the rest of the defense for Dan Quinn.

Browns receive: 2025 first-round pick, 2026 first-round pick

Defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley quickly turned things around for the Green Bay Packers defense in his first season with the team. Giving him a superstar pass rusher who fits in a 4-3 scheme could make them one of the best units in the league.

The Packers ranked just 26th in pass rush win rate late season, with players like Rashan Gary and Lukas Van Ness struggling to adapt to Hafley's new scheme. While both players still have legitimate potential in this defense, an impact pass rusher alongside them is exactly what Hafley's aggressive, turnover-reliant scheme needs to wreak even more havoc on opposing quarterbacks.

Garrett could be a Reggie White-level impact player for the Packers to elevate them into serious Super Bowl contenders. Meanwhile, the Browns get a first-round pick in 2026 to have ammunition to take a swing on their next attempt at a franchise QB in next year's draft, which is expected to be loaded at the position.

Browns receive: 2025 second-round + fourth-round pick, 2026 conditional second-round pick

If Garrett is ok with waiting a little bit to be a Super Bowl contender, then a team like the New England Patriots could be an exciting option for the 29-year-old star.

Drake Maye showed real signs of being a long-term quarterback, while the Patriots got their No. 1 target at head coach in Mike Vrabel. The team still has a lot of work to do to build a contender around Maye, but they have tons of resources to do so, including a league-high $120 million in cap space.

The Patriots are drafting early, so a second-round pick in 2025 is more enticing than the second-rounders other teams could offer. In addition, the Patriots could make a 2026 pick a conditional second that could turn into a first based on the team's ability to reach the postseason.

New England desperately needs more star power on both sides of the ball, and a trade like this could be an exciting splash move while still giving the Patriots plenty of ammo to load up on top free agents this offseason.

Who wouldn't want to play for Dan Campbell?

After so many extensions last offseason, the Detroit Lions still have some financial flexibility for another move this offseason with $46 million in cap space. Plus, the Lions have one of the most aggressive general managers in the league, Brad Holmes, who isn't afraid to take home-run swings.

The Lions' Super Bowl window may not be open for long with upcoming cap hits from superstar players, but they could pair a healthy Aidan Hutchinson with a superstar veteran like Garrett to give them a lethal pass-rushing duo.

As a likely Super Bowl contender, the Lions would need to give up first-round picks to afford a player like Garrett, but Holmes is one of the GMs who seems willing enough to make such an aggressive move to get his roster a top-tier talent like Garrett.
